Standard work instructions
and Digital checklists

Using standard work items not only helps you reduce variations in quality, but also brings down your training time of employees and helps you coordinate the information flow in your shopfloor operations management. Data can be saved in the system’s internal database, sent by email or included into PDF or PPT documents.

Digital checklists
Dynamic checklists ensure you always have up-to-date information available. If quality issues occur, you can immediately react and keep your yield rates high.

Digital work instructions
Using standardized work procedures on digital devices helps you ensure consistent quality and reduces onboarding times for your new employees.

Dynamic alerts
The major benefit of using digital versions for your standard procedures is the ability to immediately react to any circumstances that require attention.
This dramatically reduces scrap rates and provides an optimal material flow.

Digital Checklists

Checklists can be freely created in a multitude of ways and instantly deployed across your mobile devices. The most straightforward way are static checklists that are created with our APP Builder. If you plan to create a wide range of checklists, you can use the embedded database feature or connect your existing systems todynamically read the data from your existing knowledge base.

No limitations in how you design your checklists

You can usea wide range of UI elements such as checklists, buttons, index lists (to-do /done), number and text input fields, audio/video recording and combine them with any number of instructions in the form of text, audio, images or video. There are virtually no limitations in how you design your checklists.

Standalone checks or cross-funtional workflows - you decide!

Checklists can be created as standalone applications for your shopfloor management or they can be a part of a larger workflow construct. In case of a workflow solution, you can assign checklists to the right people using our rule engine.  The WORKERBASE Rules Engine allows you to filter the results of your checklist in realtime for alerting conditions such as quality issues.
If such issues occur, you can immediately notify a quality engineer to take care of the issue before more scrap is produced. The system allows you to configure these conditions to exactly match your operating requirements.

Powerful process integration

The data produced by each checklist gets stored in the WORKERBASE system and can additionally produce PDF or PPT documents that you can file in your conventional archiving systems for compliance purposes. You can also include the data into your company’s PPT templates.

Examples for digital checklists in manufacturing

Shopfloor meeting protocols: Bring all team members on the same level and give them options to lookup data if necessary
Continuous improvement submissions: Allow employees to record their improvement ideas in standardized formats
Handover protocols: Ensure handovers are done in a complete way so employees have all information at hand they need to perform their jobs.
Quality control: Detect issues in realtime and take immediate action
Inspection protocols: Ensure completeness of inspection runs and simply file results for traceability
Regular task protocols: Guarantee timely execution of routine jobs with precision andsame standards across all employees
Maintenance protocols: Run regular maintenance jobs and record results for further analysis

Standard Operating Procedures

Providing your staff with digital work instructions carries many benefits beyond just simplifying document management and saving printing costs. Once your instructions are digitized, you also get a realtime feedback channel directly from your shopfloor operations. On top of existing machine data, it is completing the end-to-end view of your manufacturing plant. Taking into account data collected from procedures in operation allows you to make instant adjustments, manually or automatically.  This allows you to increase the utilization rate of your employees and significantly bring down the onboarding time of new employees. You simply get more value out of your existing workforce.

Build any kind of work instruction in a short time

Using our No-Code APP Builder, your shopfloor team can create new instructions or even complex workflows in a very short time. You can expect to spend about 30mins to create simple instructions up to 4h to create a more complex workflow that involves multiple parties. If you need to run advanced calculations or if you want to extend the system with any kind of custom functionality, our system allows you to add your custom code in the programming language of your choice: Javascript/Node.js, Java, C# .NET, Python or Ruby. We are using Serverless technology to ensure your custom functions run in a secure and robust environment.

Use templates to scale your solution

Data can either be entered directly into the workinstructions editor. If your instructions follow the same format you can use our database feature to dynamically load your instructions into a template you create. Data that is already available in an existing system can very easily be imported or dynamically loaded on demand. Setting up a data connection to your existing system is typically a matter of a few hours.

Digital work instructions for flexible production needs

WORKERBASE digital work instructions are completely dynamic. You can add custom navigation, loops or dynamically load data according to the situation at hand in order to guide your employees effectively. Every step in your instruction flow can be dynamically adjusted – without the need to do any programming. As an additional step you can add digital work coordination on top of your standard work procedures. This allows you to assign jobs to your shopfloor staff in realtime based on a range of criteria, such as a worker’s location, availability and skill.
