The Challenge

Dantherm was upgrading to a new cloud-based ERP system but faced a critical gap: the new system couldn’t handle their specific day-to-day operational needs. They needed a flexible solution to bridge this gap and eliminate inefficient paper-based processes that were slowing down production.
  • No real-time guidance for workers: Their ERP system couldn’t provide real-time work instructions, quality checklists, or inventory assignments directly to assembly stations
  • Time-consuming paper processes: Complex manufacturing processes still relied on manual paperwork, keeping workers stuck on administrative tasks instead of value-adding work
  • Poor visibility and data quality: Paper-based documentation made it impossible to track production in real-time or gather reliable data for continuous improvement

The Solution

We helped Dantherm bridge the gap between their frontline workers and their ERP system by implementing our Connected Worker Platform as a customization layer. This gave them the flexibility to digitize their manufacturing processes without expensive ERP customizations, while maintaining seamless integration with their existing systems:

    1. Instant work guidance: Workers now scan QR codes on products to instantly pull up work instructions, standard operating procedures, and required materials directly from their ERP system.
    2. Automated quality control: Digital checkpoints automatically trigger at key assembly stages. This ensures consistent quality while creating a complete audit trail.
    3. Paperless operations: All forms, checklists, and documentation were digitized and made accessible on workstations and mobile devices. Workers can now complete tasks, track progress, and ensure compliance all from one unified platform.
    4. Integrated production planning: A custom application automatically pulls daily production orders from the ERP system, allowing engineers to assign the right materials to the right assembly stations. Any changes sync back to the ERP in real-time, eliminating manual data entry and reducing errors.

The Results

Dantherm achieved significant quality improvements through digital work instructions and automated quality checks. Real-time production tracking replaced paper processes, giving management instant visibility and enabling data-driven decisions. Engineering teams gained clear oversight of inventory and production flow, improving line balancing and operational efficiency.

Reduced Quality Issues

Digital work instructions and automated quality checks eliminated assembly errors and ensure consistent quality standards.

Improved Traceability & Data Accuracy

Moving from paper to digital allowed real-time monitoring of work progress and more accurate data for decision-making.

Optimized Inventory & Production Flow

Engineering teams now have clear visibility into inventory and production needs, enabling better line balancing and resource planning.
